Celebrating NYS Agriculture Literacy Week

Bridgehampton students took part in NYS Agriculture Literacy Week (March 16-20th) with hands-on, engaging learning experiences centered around the importance of agriculture in our everyday lives.
Students in Mrs. Pluta’s Kindergarten and third grade Health and Wellness classes, along with Ms. DeSouza’s first and second grade Horticulture classes, proudly participated in this statewide celebration of New York agriculture.
This year’s featured book, Seasons on the Farm, was generously provided by Ms. Marta Blanco, a registered nutrition and dietetics technician from our local Cornell Cooperative Extension. The story takes readers through the changing seasons on a farm, highlighting the growth, patience, and renewal that define agricultural life.
Inspired by the book, students designed and created their own “Seasons on the Farm” wheels, bringing the farming cycle to life through creativity and hands-on learning.
A wonderful week of literacy, discovery, and appreciation for the world around us!
